Creature Feature: Invent Your Own Mythical Beast

In this 1.5-hour creative writing workshop, you will create your very own mythical creature — complete with unique abilities, an original habitat, and an exciting backstory. Explore how to use sensory details, vivid descriptions, and worldbuilding techniques to bring your creature to life. We’ll also write a short encounter scene where their creature meets a human (or another creature!) for the first time. This class encourages imagination, descriptive writing skills, and creative confidence.

You will:

• Invent an original mythical creature with its own traits, powers, and weaknesses
• Design a habitat and culture for their creature
